Pieces of My Career
The following is a collection of projects from graphics classes I completed at Grady College at the University of Georgia. Each piece is important to my learning and growing in the journalistic community. I hope you enjoy my work and I invite you to contact me with any questions.
LOGO ASSIGNMENT
June 2023
Using my knowledge of design elements, branding, color and typography, I choose a logo, emulated it, and then redesigned it in three different iterations using Adobe llustrator.
NEWSPAPER AND MAGAZINE DESIGN
June, 2023
Given a set of articles and art, I composed one newspaper page and a second iteration in the form of a magazine double-truck spread using Adobe InDesign. Elements of good design, color and typography were applied on the structure of
newsworthiness and journalistic decision-making.
INFOGRAPHICS AND DATA VIZUALIZATION

After covering data journalism basics, I choose a set of data and constructed a version of visualizing that information—as an infographic on a web-based program, to relay that information in a focused, contextual and purposeful way.
INTERACTIVE GRAPHICS AND WEB DESIGN

In addition to an in-class exercise critiquing and suggesting changes for website design and navigation, this project was to create an interactive web graphic or design using Adobe Spark. For content, I used a story I had previously written at the Red and Black (originally featured in the Writing tab) and revamped it into an interactive format.
SOCIAL MEDIA ANIMATION
June, 2023
Using Canva, I created a video animation for social media in order to illustrate a larger journalistic narrative. I used the previous story (LEYA) as a starting point, to make a promotion for that story.
DIGITAL NEWSLETTER AND DATA ANALYTICS
June 2023
I created a digital newsletter design to inform and promote this website. Embed are links to infographics, animations, videos and stories housed in my portfolio. I also linked my social media accounts and analyzed the user interface to determine design changes based on analytics received after distribution.

This is an infographic I created for my JOUR 5380 (Data Gathering ad Visualization) class. I conducted research to inform and effectively visualize data in a graphic designed for the Web and devoted to illustrating the relationship between a health problem and one other variable.
COLLEGE GRADUATION STATISTICS BY STATE MAP GRAPHIC
November 2021
This is a map-based visualization I created with Adobe Illustrator for my JOUR 5380 (Data Gathering and Visualization) class. This was made to represent geographic disparities. I made a choropleth map and my own illustrations with the software.
